18-hole courses by the sea
Golf Club Lignano (www.golflignano.it) is situated at just a short walk from the sea and is characterised by its long fairways, spacious greens with water hazards and vast natural sand roughs set perfectly among the greenery of the surrounding pine forest. Nearby the beautiful landscape can be admired from barges travelling along the splendid Laguna di Marano and the River Oasis of Parco dello Stella.

How to Get There
From the A4 motorway exit at Castello di Latisana and follow the highway for approx. 15km following directions for Ligano. Once at the entrance of Lignano, follow directions for the Golf club.

Greens in an Oasis
Golf Club Grado (www.golfgrado.it) is situated overlooking the Laguna di Gardo, with thick reeds home to wild swans, herons and flamingos. The greens are protected by water hazards and large bunkers, making the game harder. Nearby you can visit Gardo Vecchia, known for its basilica, baptistery and Roman ruins, and also Aquileia and Palmanova, one of the 9 cities world-wide with an urban layout in the shape of a star.

How to Get There
Take the A4 Venezia – Trieste until the Palmanova exit. Continue towards Monfalcone for approx. 7km.

Swing and Wine
Golf Country Club Gorizia (www.golfcastellodispessa.it) is dominated by the Castello di Spessa and its secular park surrounded by extensive vineyards. Hole 2 is of particular difficulty; a Par 3 with a green protected by 2 water hazards and a large bunker.

How to Get There
Follow the A4 Venezia-Trieste until the Villesse exit. Follow directions for Gardisca d’Isonzo and Cormons, until you get to Capriva del Friuli and follow directions for Castello di Spessa.

Golf and Bora winds
Golf Club Trieste (www.golfclubtrieste.net) is set overlooking the enchanting scenery of the Gulf of Trieste. The course requires technique and precision, perfectly set among the harsh hillsides of the Carsico high planes covered in oaks and Mediterranean pines. Hole 17 offers breathtaking views extending from the Laguna di Gardo and Ligano until the coast of Istria.

How to Get There
Take the A4 motorway until Lisert-Treste and continue for 30km until the Padriciano exit. Continue through the town until you reach a crossroads; turn right into a small road; the course is situated at 3km.
