The city of Pietrabbondante is the proud host of the Sannita Theatre Festival, held from 31 July to 16 August.

The festival is a series of free evening performances retracing legendry Greek, Roman and Classic playwrights, from Cassandra, Sophocles, Plautus and Dante, to Pirandello and Pasolini. Important names of the theatre-world, including Giuseppe Argirò, Michele Placido and Ulderico Pesce take part in this year’s Sannita Theatre Festival, a must-see for lovers of theatre while combing a trip to the fascinating Molise region.
