On May 7, the 2011 Giro d'Italia is launched, ending after 21 legs on 29 May in Milan.

Honouring the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy, the Giro d'Italia begins on the 7th of May in Turin. Opening the most prestigious cycling competition in Italy and also one of the leading tours of the world is the chronometric departure from Venaria Reale arriving in the centre of Turin.

The competition, which this year features 21 legs, will also reach Langhe region, Parma, Liguria region, Orvieto, Fiuggi, Tropea, Messina, the Etna volcano, Ravenna, the Fassa Valley, Valtellina, San Pellegrino Terme and Sestriere. The grand final takes place in Milan on May 29 with a chronometer at Piazza Castello and Piazza Duomo. A 3496 km competition truly a must-see for lovers of cycling!
