Madonie Park is an adventure playground set in the nature of Sicily, equipped for both adults and children.

Madonie Park is located between P alermo and Caltanisetta, and is one of the main natural beauties of Sicily. For lovers of eco-sport who want to visit Sicily, the park is the ideal destination for relaxing breaks surrounded by nature and tradition. If you are travelling with children, you can visit the adventure park situated in the village of Petralia Sottana and also in the ski resort of Piano Battaglia.

Whether traveling alone or with children in tow, here are some of the eco-sport activities features at "Parco dell Madonie".

Speleology (Cave exploring)
Visit the “Abisso del Vento” cave in Isnello, which is 220 m deep. The route is still partly unexplored and unwinds between wells and galleries. Not to be missed also is the “Abisso del Gatto", close to Cefalù.

Nordic walking
A light trekking excursion with mountain sticks to help the way. The walk is practiced using the same technique as skiing.

Orienteering
Organized for groups, orienteering is a sport in which participants are challenged to find their way with maps and compasses while in the middle for woods and flat-lands.

Trail running
Running along market trails in the mountains which are usually use for excursions. Twice a year, Madonie Park organizes two running events: Ecomaratona (Eco-marathon) and Ecotrail della Luna (Eco Moon Trail).

Mountain bike
Discover the beautiful pathways of the Madonie Park, an ideal activity for families with children.

Climbing
There are many ways in which to practice free-climbing on Madonie Park, where its adventure playground features climbing suitable for children. The walls of "Passo Scuro" are also popular with climbers.

Horse-riding
Discover Madonie on horseback, where you can enjoy longer routes in less time, while admiring the breathtaking scenery.

Trekking
Trekking lovers can choose from over 29 pathways! The routes unwind around the park and are well-tended, where trekkers can choose levels and difficulty and lengths.

Skiing and winter sports
In Sicily it is also possible to ski and practice winter sports; just head for the ski resort of Piano Battaglia, situated very close to Parco dell Madonie.
